Rotary shares an interest in protecting a common legacy: supporting the environment.
More than $18 million in grant funding has been allocated to environment-related projects over the past five years.
Creating a distinct area of focus to support the environment will give Rotary members even more ways to bring about positive change in the world and increase our impact.

The members of Corrimal Rotary are keenly aware of environmental issues and to address this, we established the the Corrimal Rotary Environment Group (CREG) with a focus on local environmental projects including beach and creek clean-ups, community gardens and tree planting.

Some of our current projects include:

Beach Clean-Ups
These happen on the first and third Saturday of the month with the first Saturday being at Corrimal Beach and the third Saturday at Bellambi Lagoon.

We meet at 8.00 am in the carpark at each site where we spend an hour or so cleaning the beach and surrounding areas.  We then meet for coffee at a local cafe and enjoy some fellowship as well.

Anyone is welcome and if you're interested, join us one Saturday morning or check our calendar for other events.

If you know of any areas in the Northern Illawarra area that needs a rubbish clean up then let us know through 'Contact Us' on the website.

Adopt a Tree
Adopt a Tree is a Rotary District 9675 project and is funded by the National Australia Day Council however this project will be ongoing. Your donation will enable trees to be planted in areas throughout NSW that require regeneration, including fire and flood ravaged zones.

The idea is for $5.00 you can 'Adopt A Tree'.  Upon purchase you will receive a numbered adoption certificate via email and every 6 months you will be sent photos and information about how your tree is growing.  You will also be able to view the area where your tree is planted via a map on the website.

It is hoped that planting will take place around April/May under the direction of Landcare. You can join in the planting process by registering your interest on the website.  It will be a fun experience, so why not get involved!

In addition, we will be funding scholarships for Smith Family children to attend Rotary Youth Programs.
