Two refurbished  native gardens at the Homeless Hub depot in Unanderra, are a work in progress.
Before Christmas 2021, CREG members cleaned and weeded the two large gardens on one of the hottest days of the year.

Omicron then hit Illawarra and we were unable to return for months.

In the meantime, the weeds grew madly but fortunately, a person on  a community service detail cleaned them before Dilys and Gerri arrived to plant about 50  native seedlings including lilly pillies donated by Gai and Barry from Dapto Rotary Club and Carmel Allen from our club.

The Homeless Hub team have promised to water them (when necessary) and we will go back to plant more natives when they become available in May.

It is hoped the gardens will provide greenness and shade for workers at the Homeless Hub and Flagstaff Workshop next door in  a rather severe industrial location . They will also be a  haven for local wildlife.
